Located in Santa Rosa, Calif., Sonoma County School Superintendent administers the Sonoma County Office of Education, also known as SCOE that coordinates various countywide and regional events for students to participate in competitions and activities with other schools. Academic Decathlon is a ten-event scholastic competition for teams of high school students. The school superintendent provides countywide leadership for the public school system that is comprised of more than 40 school districts with student population of over 71,000 students. The school s superintendent support Sonoma County teachers, administrators and parents in the implementation of the grade standards-based curriculum. The superintendent also provides fiscal services. SCOE offers a wide variety of its own student programs, including regional occupational, and special and alternative education programs
