History
The railroad was built in 1912. In 2005 we launched the Sacramento RiverTrain to offer passengers the opportunity to see the countryside while enjoying food, entertainment and the nostalgia of riding the rails.

The Sacramento RiverTrain is a train that runs between Woodland & West Sacramento, CA. Trips typically last about 3 hours. We operate year-round with evening, daytime & special events. Evening trips include sunset dinners, murder mystery shows and dinner trips with live music in the lounge car. Daytime trips include Great Train Robberies, Brunches, Scenic Trips, and more. We also offer a variety of special events throughout the year, including Valentines Day, Easter Egg Express, Mother's Day Brunch, Father's Day BBQ, Pumpkin Trains, Thanksgiving, Christmas Trains and New Years Eve. Our route includes a ride over the 8000' Fremont Trestle, which we belive is the longest wooden trestle in the West. We also travel along the Sacramento River and through scenic farmland. Our train has both enclosed coaches & dinner cars with heating & air conditioning, as well as open-air observation cars. Our seating arrangements vary depending upon the type of trip.
