The Burlingame Bodies of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry is one of the many groups that make up the worldwide Freemason fraternity. According to the group's Web site, its mission is "to improve its members and enhance the communities in which they live by teaching and emulating the principles of Brotherly Love, Tolerance, Charity and Truth." The group makes its presence known in Burlingame through philanthropic works, such as Child ID at the Burlingame Artzfest and the Burlingame Scottish Rite Childhood Language Center, which helps children with speech problems and reading. All meetings and events are posted on the organization's Web site.
