History
Saving Lives Camarillo is one of approximately 750 coalitions in the United States funded under the Drug Free Communities Support Program. These funds are granted by the White House Office of National Drug Control Police, (ONDCP), and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, (SAMHSA). Operating since 2009, the mission of Saving Lives Camarillo has been to reduce alcohol and drug use among Camarillo youth. Our tasks have included: Educating the community about current alcohol and drug use among Camarillo youth through sponsored education events and social media. Informing the community about current trends in alcohol and drug use among minors. Providing support and guidance to parents and grandparents. Contracting for direct services to high and middle school youth. Disseminating information about legal issues involving minors using chemicals - including our local Social Host Ordinance. Monthly public coalition and task force meetings.

Who Are We We are a diverse group of people from Camarillo community working to reduce underage drinking and drug use. Our Vision Our vision is for the youth of our community to reach their full potential and succeed as healthy, moral adults, unhindered by alcohol and drug use, each contributing in their own unique way to the community and world we live in. What Drives us Driving us is the knowledge that saving children from using alcohol and drugs in their youth significantly decreases their chances of becoming addicted to these substances. How we Fulfill our Vision Our efforts are centered on influencing our children to make good choices about not using alcohol and drugs by reducing their access to these substances, arming them with compelling knowledge, and improving the support of family and community.
