Izakaya Restaurants are traditional small plate restaurants where friends go to have a drink and unwind after a long day.
Situated in a historic 100 year old building that for many years housed the Walnut Creek Meat Market, this storefront has been transformed by BH Development and Best Santos Studios. Chef Philip Yang (proprietor and owner of Blue Gingko, Lafayette) prepares Japanese- influenced dishes from around the world consisting of an eclectic mix of local and seasonal meat, noodle, sashimi, and traditional sushi specialties, with an emphasis on a unique variety of fresh seafood delivered daily from Tokyo's world-famous Tsukiji fish market.
Sasa features an outdoor patio and a full bar, stocked with an extensive selection of sake and Shochu, where mixologists introduce diners to the world of sake. Tastings guide guests through the drink's rich cultural history and allow you to sample classic brands and learn about new regions and the art of pairing sake with food.
