History
The San Martin Dairy, home of the San Martin Milk Company, was purchased in 1993 by a second generation dairyman. We continue to milk in a traditional California style milk parlor. The dairy was originally operated by sending our milk to a cooperative, Berkeley Farms, from 1995 to 2011. In 2011, after obtaining state permits from the California Department of Food and Agriculture, we began to bottle our own raw milk in our processing room, which is just a few feet away from the milking parlor. We only bottle our own raw milk in our processing room. This assures the utmost freshness and decreased handling of our raw milk.Our focus is on producing high quality certified raw milk from Jersey cows. Since 2011, we always wanted to make simple and high quality dairy products. We here at the milk farm honestly believes that foods particularly dairy should not just be fresh and wholesome but also must taste and feel good.
