History
If you own a dryer YOU have a dryer vent. How often should the dryer vent be cleaned? At least once every year. Air flow restriction can make the dryer overheat causing the motor that turns the drum to stop working, resulting in damage to the internal components. When a dryer vent is blocked the flammable lint could ignite from the dryers heating element resulting in a fire. That will burn through the entire length of the dryer run. In some cases under the floor into the basement or crawl space, up the wall and ceiling through the attic etc. What causes air flow restriction? -Kinked or crushed dryer flex. -Dryer flex that's too long in length. -Built up moisture from drying soaking wet clothes or bath towels. -Dryer lint from normal everyday use over a period of time. Who is at risk? Everyone who does not routinely have the vent run and dryer cleaned.
