History
San Gabriel Mission Elementary School was opened in 1912 by the Claretian Missionaries of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose. San Gabriel Mission Elementary School has grown tremendously from its humble beginnings and has developed a robust academic and spirit-filled extra-curricular programs all in a faith-filled and family-centered environment.

We believe that setting high academic and moral expectations, appropriately challenging our students in both curriculum and character, as well as providing suitable support systems ensures that each student works at their highest potential and achieves future success. As a Catholic STEM school, we believe that our integrated STEM approach will prepare students to take on the challenges of a changing world, equipping them with the skills to succeed and the integrity to transform!
