Sustainability is the buzz word in the coffee industry today, and at Royal Cup, we are committed to aligning ourselves with partners in the business who do the right thing. We build good relationships with importers, exporters, and farmers, and our regular travels to the producing countries reveal how well the farms are managed and how the people are treated on these farms. Royal Cup contributes on a regular basis to Coffee Kids, Women in Coffee, and other U. S. based organizations that focus on people development in the producing countries. But perhaps most importantly, Royal Cup is a member of the Rainforest Alliance, and we have been roasting and selling these coffees since 2003. Rainforest Alliance Certified' farms have met rigorous environmental and social standards including biodiversity conservation, worker protection, and healthcare and education for children of farm workers. Royal Cup was one of the first roasters in North America to join the Rainforest Alliance, and some of our customers who proudly serve Rainforest Alliance Certified' blends include, Holiday Inn, National Parks Division of Delaware North, and The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, FL. Royal Cup proudly offers 100% Rainforest Alliance Certified' coffee, and in fact, many of our signature products contain Rainforest Alliance Certified' coffees. In the last year alone, Royal Cup roasted over 1.5 million pounds of Rainforest Alliance Certified' coffees.
