History
I've been working in the field of health and wellness for 15 years, starting in medicine and then transitioning to psychotherapy. One of the reasons I started counseling was to look more deeply at the causes of pain and suffering that can manifest in a variety of forms (body, relationships, environment, etc.) in our lives. My practice as a therapist has been a deeply humbling experience of personal growth and sustainability. I work with people that have insurance as well as those that don't and have a few sliding scale spaces available to those that need financial assistance.
Specialties
I specialize in counseling for Adolescents, Adults, Couples and Families. I tend to look closely at habitual patterns that you maintain, such as negativity, addiction and shame that limit your potential. I find it important to look at things from a holistic perspective, my way of working is both inside out and outside in, meaning encourage you to share your internal world that others may not see, as well as the external systemic influences in your life. Much of my work is depth oriented, I often focus on the ways you think (cognitive), and your emotional body (somatic) to unlock the subconscious or unconscious ways you function or feel in the world. I run two men's groups and work deeply with core issues men struggle with. I also facilitate rights of passage work and vision quests. The work I do with ritual and rights of passage is for those ready to make big changes in their lives, with the desire to bring in guidance, deeper truth and purpose into every day living.
