Recology, formerly known as Norcal Waste Systems, is one of the largest, employee-owned companies in the solid waste industry in the United States. The company provides waste management services for more than 570,000 residential and over 55,000 commercial customers. It is a parent for nearly 25 subsidiaries that provides several solid waste services, such as collection, recycling, transfer and landfill operations. Recology delivers several recycling programs, including construction and demolition debris recycling and the large-scale composting of food and organic wastes. The company offers services in Oroville, Los Altos, Santa Clara, Rocklin, Live Oak and Gilroy cities in California. Its Artist-in-Residence Program creates art from reclaimed materials.
