History
Praised as an exceptionally talented cellist, Mr. Chen was born in Taiwan and received his Bachelor's of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of professor Jennifer Culp of the Kronos Quartet. Before that, Mr. Chen found his passion for the cello under the loving care and tutelage of his former teacher Kyeong H. Kim. Mr. Chen has had multiple solo appearances including his first debut solo with the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra at the age of thirteen, performing the virtuosic Saint Saens cello concerto, as well as performing the infamous Prokofiev Concertante with the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra a few years later. In addition, he has also toured around Europe and New York and performed in multiple prestigious locations such as Carnegie Hall.
