Pleasure Island Park opened in 1973 and was originally called "Tire Park" for tires that were used to create play equipment in the park. The park was renamed in 1990 from a contest conducted among Sonoma Elementary School students. It contains a tot lot, barbecue pits and picnic tables.

We have never been to the previous park prior to the renovations, but this is our favorite park. Parking is usually easy to find, but sometimes this park gets busy. The amenities here are great...

Large play structure has no stairs. If your kid can't climb up the poles then you have to stand there and continually pick them up.

Very nice neighbor park. Large, lots of shade trees, play area for the kids. Too bad for the squirrels, Kite Hawks moved into the park and have eaten most of them.

Decent park with a nice trail for walking. Lots of shade surrounding the play area, though none on the structures themselves. A nearby pine tree with a low growing trunk is the most popular thing...

Ida Holm Park

The land of Ida Holm Park originally was purchased by the federal government from the Holm family. Several wells were drilled on the land to supply water to the Veterans Administration Hospital before the park, originally called Holmwell, opened in 1975. It was later renamed in 1999 to recognize the Holm family matriarch. The six-acre park contains a tot lot, picnic tables and horseshoe pits.
