The Public Works & Community Development department is responsible for the maintenance of infrastructure. It is governed by the city of Pleasant Hill in California. The department operates building, engineering, maintenance and planning divisions. The Building Division handles permits and inspections for new construction projects. The Public Works & Community Development s capital improvement program section is responsible for budgeting, management, design and construction of various city projects. The department oversees the maintenance of landscapes, street lights, creeks and storm drains, and fleet vehicles and equipment, as well as handles pothole repair and graffiti removal. The Planning Division provides information on land use, zoning, development standards, and general plan goals, policies and programs.
