Pinole Valley High School offers courses in advanced placement and honors as well as an environmental studies academy in which students can enroll during their sophomore year. The school also has a Conservatory of the Arts, which includes advanced studies in dance, art, music, theater and speech.
Home of the Spartans, the school offers advanced placement courses in seven subject areas and students may participate in competitive sports and extracurricular activities.
There is a plan for the renovation of the 1960s-era school grounds, to be completed in 2016. The high school is the only one in Pinole and is part of the West Contra Costa Unified School District.
