Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park & Mortuary was originally established as Sunset Cemetery by the State of California, and later changed to Westwood Memorial Park.
The funeral home provides burial and cremation services. Services for forwarding and receiving remains are also offered. Memorialization options include garden mausoleums, indoor crypts, private and semi-private bench estates, a cremation garden and ground burial. As part of the Dignity Memorial network since 1991, other services provided include grief managment, a 24-hour help line, bereavement travel services and service transfers.
The park was designated as Historical-Cultural Monument No. 731 in 2002 by the Cultural Heritage Commission of the City of Los Angeles. The cemetary is home to the family mausoleum of the late oil tycoon Armand Hammer, who has an art museum named for him nearby, constructed by Hammer's Occidental Petroleum Corporation.
