Parkside Intermediate serves sixth, seventh and eighth graders in the San Bruno Park School District. Home of the Parkside Panthers, the school has a library media center, which includes a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books, reference materials, magazines and computers. For the 2009-10 school year, Parkside began incorporating Web-based programs to help improve student learning, adding classes in technology and leadership, and placing an emphasis on AVID skills for organization and study habits.
During the 2011-12 school year, the school embarked on an $11 million construction project—funded with proceeds from the sale of the Carl Sandburg site—to add a new two-story modular building and technology upgrades to the campus. A new wing and quad area were also built to modernize the school and accommodate the sixth graders that were moved to Parkside for the 2012-13 school year.
The principal is Angela Addiego.
