In 1927, Paramount Pictures purchased 2,400 acres of land for use as a "movie ranch." More than 300 acres were turned into a western town in 1952, and in 1980, the National Park Service purchased the land and opened the ranch to the public. With endless trails for hiking and horseback riding, Paramount Ranch is Agoura's outdoor getaway.
