Company ProfilePacific Railway Enterprises, Inc ( PRE ), operating since May 1994, provides an array of services to our clients. PRE's staff of thirty ( 30 ) individuals have in excess of 250 years of combined railroad signal and communications experience offering a variety of backgrounds in railroad freight, light rail, commuter, transit signal design, construction, and maintenance.PRE provides railroad signal system and train control design services to several freight, commuter, and transit operators. Clients include the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad ( BNSF ), Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority ( ACTA ), Port of Los Angeles, Port of Long Beach, Southern California Regional Rail Authority ( Metrolink ), Amtrak, San Diego North County Transit District ( Coaster ), San Diego Metropolitan Transit Development Board ( San Diego Trolley ), and Los Angeles Junction Railway Company ( LAJ ).Services include design, design review, technical assistance, contract technical specification development, material procurement, planning, field surveys, training, vital processor software development and testing, construction oversite and inspection, product and construction standard development, operations support, cutover support, cutover direction and management, and consulting.During the 16 year span of business, PRE's staff has designed over 150 control points, 250 highway grade crossings, three dispatch facilities, and numerous hazard detectors. PRE's staff not only provides design services but have actively participated in the construction and commissioning of the systems designed. This experience is incorporated into every design to ensure our clients receive the most efficient and reliable train control system available.Worldport Los Angeles - PRE provided contract specifications, drawings, and engineering support during construction for the Worldport's Signalization Project that included the construction of eight ( 8 ) control points and dispatch system. PRE approved all shop drawings and product submittals and assisted the construction management team in negotiating changes. The project was highly successful with few signal related change orders required.Tutor-Saliba & AMELCO Electric - PRE has provided design services in conjunction with railroad signal systems on the Alameda Corridor project between Los Angeles and the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach. The project included construction of 21 control points, 5 intermediate signal locations, 18 highway grade crossings, and numerous hazard detectors. The 17 mile long corridor consists of three main tracks with over 100 power turnouts.Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company - PRE has provided signal services to B NSF since 1994. Major projects have included PRE's selection by BNSF to provide advance planning of signal systems for the Seattle to Tacoma Commuter Rail Project. The signal construction estimates for this project exceed $65 million and consists of two, three, and four main track signal systems. PRE provided conceptual drawings, detailed conduit and equipment location drawings, construction estimates, and product specifications. PRE also provided design services for the construction of 12 large control points located between Los Angeles and Norwalk in conjunction with the Alameda Corridor Project. PRE designed highway grade crossing systems in conjunction with the Placentia Quiet Zone project for BNSF, incorporating the design of 4-Quadrant gate systems, wireless, and "Exit Gate" system technology through the city of Placentia The project was BNSF's first to utilize 4-Quadrant gate systems. PRE has provided numerous additional services to BNSF including training, technical assistance, design services, field surveys, and construction support.Southern California Regional Rail Authority - PRE has provided signal services to SCRRA since 1995.
