History
The visionary founders, Mr. Everett Brandon and Dr. Henry Lucas, saw the wisdom of creating a structure for many different programs in response to the needs of the African American community and other underrepresented groups in education, business and employment. PACT began to operate in 1964, and in 1965 began to operate its first Educational Talent Search Project which was funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The program has expanded and continues presently.
Specialties
PACT's goal is to see that underprivileged youth in the Bay Area receive the support they need to go to college. We facilitate free student services in the areas of the college application process and provide access to scholarship opportunities. Many of our students will be the first in their families to attend college and are unaware of the myriad of educational opportunities available to them.
