History
I started my law practice after working with a small firm, Bersch and Kaplowitz, which did class action employment discrimination work and family law. After three years, I went out on my own and the firm facilitated having all the client work I was doing transferred to my firm. I also did juvenile dependency work when I began but quickly family law was all consuming. Most of my referrals came from my bar association work, especially with the Los Angeles County Bar Association Family Law Section (President) and the Women Lawyers' Association of Los Angeles (President). After almost 30 years of both litigation and mediation, I eliminated litigation from my practice and now only provide services as a consultant, document preparer, collaborative lawyer or mediator. I find that making peace is much preferable to making war for the parties and for me.
