Ortega High School serves 185 students and is part of the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. The school, which opened in 2006, is a fully accredited alternative program for community students.
The school offers programs to meet various needs, from students who wish to graduate early, to students who want to make up credits to return to their comprehensive home schools, to students who want to work as they attend school.
The Ortega High School student body is diverse. Fifty-eight percent of students are Hispanic or Latino; 33 percent are white; 4 percent are African American; 2 percent are Asian.
