Oceana was created in 2001 to protect and preserve the world's oceans. They are currently the largest organization in the world focused uniquely on ocean conservation. Focuses include ocean pollution, responsible fishing and preservation of specific areas and wildlife. They have offices in Central America, South America, Europe and North America including this one in Venice Beach. They have many campaigns aimed at achieving measurable outcomes to keep the ocean clean. Current membership numbers over half a million "wavemakers."
