Serving the community since 1963, Novato Parents Nursery School (NPNS) is the city's only parent cooperative nursery school. The school's curriculum is shape by credentialed teachers with experience in education, early childhood development and as positive discipline. Parents of the students also run the day to day operations of the preschool. NPNS accepts children from 2.5 to 5 years and offers a special program for toddlers 18 months to 2.5 years old.

Spring Hill Montessori

Spring Hill Montessori provides bilingual and global Montessori education to toddlers, preschoolers and elementary students that focuses on the the individual development of each student. Its multi-age classes and small student-to-teacher ratios (12:1 for preschool and elementary classrooms and 6:1 for toddlers) allow students the opportunities to learn from classmates under the professional guidance of experienced teachers. Child Start, Inc. is a general practice child and family services organization serving the areas of Napa and Solano. Lead by executive director Grayland L. Hilt, the organization specializes in providing learning and teaching programs for young children and families in the community. The organization offers a wide range of services and works closely with agencies in the area to provide programs in nutrition, literacy, mental health and education training. Child Start offers numerous programming options for children, including work at development centers, part/full day pre-schooling, as well as home visits and home programs.
