Specialties
My passion is to help others find peace, healing, and self-acceptance. My goal is to create a relaxing, safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore what hinder them from being the best person they want to be and live the life they want to live! I partner with and walk beside clients as they explore, grow, and heal rather than tell them how to live their lives. I strive to understand each client's story and the roles family, values, beliefs, and culture plays in shaping them into the person they are and want to be. I love to bring creativity and art activities into the counseling process. I have worked with clients of all ages, but my passion is working with older teens and young adults. I have experience working with clients dealing with: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, couple's counseling, stress, family conflict, grief, school-related issues, life transitions, divorce, trauma, communication issues, and more. I have a specialization in Military Culture and Military Families and currently work with Veterans in the community. I believe in the value of integrating counseling and spirituality/faith. However I respect that including respectful faith integration is the the client's personal choice. I value the human-animal bond and am working on my certification for Animal Assisted Interventions. As part of the training process, during my in-office sessions I am often accompanied by my Miniature Schnauzer Canine Co-therapist-in-training named Splash.
