The National Latino Research Center (NLRC) in San Marcos, CA is an applied social science research center dedicated to promoting research, training, and awareness of the unique needs and dynamics of U.S. Latino communities. With longstanding partnerships in the U.S.-Mexico border region, NLRC collaborates with Latina/o communities, organizations, and public institutions to bridge educational and health resources.
Engaging in research related to health, education, civic learning, and the environment, NLRC recently received a 2023 Minority Research Grant to develop and evaluate the Bridges2Health program in partnership with Vista Community Clinic and Vista Unified School District. This initiative aims to support ethnic/racial minority, low-income, and limited English proficient students and families in establishing a medical home, connecting with community resources, and increasing engagement with health programs.
