Social Services Department is a city department that is operated by the county of Napa, Calif. It provides medical aid programs, financial and elderly assistance, vocational support, child welfare and adult protection services. The department also offers in-home care to people with disabilities. It offers the CalWORKs program, which provides counseling, child care and ancillary services that are needed for employment. Social Services Department provides outreach and eligibility determination services for the food stamp voucher program and offers referrals to other food and nutrition service units, such as Women, Infants and Children, Salvation Army and The Table. Its adult protective services program offers home support, case management, public guardian, public health nursing and veterans-related services. Additionally, the department offers elderly and dependent adult abuse investigations, placements, probate conservatorship referrals and representative payee services.
