History
Alissa BenPorat is a long time student of movement--and her own injuries--and believes that healthy playful movement is the fountain of youth and the foundation of life. She combines functional movement, Pilates, and applied neuroscience (Z-health) into every session. She has experience teaching at chronic pain clinics, gyms and pilates studios, physical therapy centers and now runs her business at two locations: The Working Body (399 Grand Ave, Oakland), and Innerstellar Yoga & Pilates (2800 Adeline St, Berkeley). She is R, I, S, T-phase certified in Z-health, and is a staff instructor in the InnerCore Teacher Training program at Innerstellar Yoga & Pilates. She is currently completing certification as a Personal Trainer through NASM.

Fitness, Flexibility, Coordination, Chronic pain and imbalances in the whole body (back, shoulders, neck, jaw, hands, elbows, hips, knees, feet). Alissa takes a neurologically based approach to movement, and believes that healthy movement is the fountain of life. Techniques improve the breath, mind, and body. Alissa's workouts address root causes of pain and imbalance while being both artful and FUNctional.
