Formed in June 1948, Butte County Mosquito and Vector Control District is a mosquito suppression, disease surveillance and information center. Based in Oroville, Calif., the center covers more than 1600 square miles of Butte County and the Hamilton City area of Glenn County. It offers a host of services that include property inspection for mosquitoes and treatment thereof, home delivery of mosquito fish and removal of yellow jacket and wasp nests. Butte County Mosquito and Vector Control District s other services includes tick and insect identification and public education through the mosquito and vector awareness week.
