Milestones Center for Child Development is on Monte Vista Avenue between East Baseline Road and East Foothill Boulevard, next-door to The Claremont Club. This Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center subsidiary is dedicated to the rehabilitative needs of children. There are a variety of group classes available for infant to school-age children. These classes include Baby-Cise, exercise and activities for infants and premature babies, and Making and Keeping Friends, emphasizing social play and communication skills.
There is also a Ready-to-Write class based on the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum, which builds foundations using a multi-sensory and developmental approach that emphasizes posture, grasp and visual perceptual skills. The center also has extensive programs and classes for children with disabilities, including those with scoliosis, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and autism. The center has multiple playrooms, classrooms and activity rooms for the children, and they are all monitored and managed by licensed physical, occupational and speech therapists.
