In many ways the cultural center of Sierra Madre, Memorial Park is home to a variety of community activities throughout the year including the annual Wistaria Festival, the Firefighters' Easter Egg Hunt, Friends of the Library Art Fair, Pioneer Days Photo Exhibit and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
In addition to plentiful greenspace, children's playground, covered picnic tables and tennis courts, the park also has a permanent band shell that plays host to the City's Summer Concerts in the Park and Movies in the Park series, as well as musical acts during the spring Wistaria Festival.
True to its name, the park is home to the Veterans' Memorial Wall, which honors local veterans of foreign wars, and the Weeping Wall Memorial, designed by local artist Lew Watanabe and dedicated in April 1999.
Memorial Park is also home to the Senior Citizen's Center in the Hart Park House, which is also used for meetings of other local organizations including Sierra Madre Rotary.
