The Los Osos Elfin Forest is a 90-acre natural area located in Los Osos, California, adjacent to the Morro Bay estuary. It is home to a diverse range of plant communities and supports over 200 species of plants, as well as numerous birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians.
Managed by San Luis Obispo County Parks and California State Parks, the Elfin Forest features a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk loop that was constructed in 1999 to protect its sensitive habitat. The forest is also supported by the Friends of El Moro Elfin Forest, a group dedicated to preserving and maintaining the natural area, educating visitors about its natural history, and promoting scientific research within the forest.
