The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is one of the largest sheriff's departments in the world. In addition to specialized services, such as the Sheriff's Youth Foundation, international liaison and employee support services, the department is divided into 10 divisions, each headed by a division chief. These include a custody operations division, correctional services division, detective division, court services division, technical services division, office of homeland security, administrative services division, leadership and training division and three patrol divisions that include field operations regions one, two and three. The department s mission is to lead the fight to prevent crime and injustice, enforce the law fairly and defend the rights of all and partner with the people it serves to secure and promote safety in its communities.
