History
In 1981, threatened by impending development pressures, a small group of vintners and growers formed the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association, a non-profit dedicated to showcasing this California, Bay Area wine region. Today, Livermore Valley Wine Country is home to over 40 wineries. The Livermore Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA) includes within its boundaries the towns of Danville, Diablo, San Ramon, Dublin, Sunol, Pleasanton, Livermore and the eastern-most part of Castro Valley.
