In 1973, Tom and Jenny Lee entered the children's wear business on a friend's suggestion by opening a retail clothing store in Long Beach, CA. The store specialized in dressy infant and toddler apparel, a segment of the children's clothing industry that the Lees thought was being largely ignored by retailers. The Lees themselves were experiencing difficulty finding holiday and special occasion outfits for their then-toddler son. The store opened to immediate success. With business blossoming, the Lees had difficulty finding suppliers to meet the overwhelming customer demand. Tom and Jenny bought a sewing machine and began making their own designs, and what started out as one sewing machine back in 1974 has now grown into today's LITO (Lovable Infants and Toddlers Outfits ) Children's Wear, a manufacturing and wholesale children's clothing business with a staff of over 40 including a talented in-house design team. Tom and Jenny's two sons have since joined the family enterprise.
