History
In 2007, I became a receptionist at an acupuncture clinic. The acupuncturist gave me a few treatments so I would know how to answer patient questions. She did more for my chronic low back and neck pain than any other treatment. After completing my BA at SDSU, I was encouraged by the acupuncturists to pursue this career. It was never a career I had previously considered with my Geopolitics degree, but it met my aim of having a profession that helped people. I loved working with the patients in that office, and I learned so much about how to help people use their health insurance to cover their care. I loved that they came into the office happy to be there and even happier when they left. I never knew a doctor's office could be like that. 15 years later, I still love my profession, and I am on a mission to help as many people as I can.
