History
I have three teaching credentials and a MA in Education. I have been helping students become better readers and writers since 2002 and started helping students with college personal statements after my own son got accepted to Columbia University over students with higher test scores and GPAs. He had written a personal essay about how he became a writer. It was charming, visual, and yes, personal. I started volunteering at Berkeley High School as an essay coach, and began helping my son's friends hone their essays to reflect their unique personalities. That's when my business took off.
Specialties
I am an educational therapist helping students ages six to adult discover how they learn best, specializing in developing reading skills and written expression. I also coach students in writing their personal statements for the college admissions process. In this age of perfect grades and test scores, something has to make individual students stand out. I help my clients find what makes them unique and then guide them through the writing process to craft essays that are compelling, visual, and memorable. I have helped students not only write personal statements that have gotten them into their colleges of choice but also to write essays that they are deeply proud of having written. I work in my home office and throughout the country on Zoom. Please read all my reviews to hear what my clients say.
