The Los Angeles Police Department is one of the largest and most innovative law enforcement agencies in the world. A Board of Police Commissioners oversees all operations of the LAPD. The Foothill Community Police Station is under the jurisdiction of the valley bureau. The Foothill area has a population of more than 180,000 people and covers 46-plus square miles. The Foothill Community Police Station serves the communities of Tujunga, Lakeview Terrace, Sun Valley (north of Golden State Freeway), Sunland, Arleta and Shadow Hills, Calif.
