History
La Fogata Restaurant was founded by Jose Luis and Lilia Chavez. Jose and Lilia wanted to bring homemade guisados to the forefront as they believed that the hardworking people of Oxnard deserved to eat food that reminds them of home. The fogata physically represents the fire that sits below a comal that is used to make handmade tortillas in Mexico, but symbolically represents the warmth our homemade food gives people who are seeking a little taste of Mexico.
