Founded in 1913, the Norwalk Regional Library is a nearly 35,000-square-foot building that features a collection of books and reference materials. It has more than 271,000 books and over 250 current magazines and newspaper subscriptions. The library stocks approximately 8,500 audio recordings. It also maintains videocassette, microfilm, government publications and telephone directories. The library stocks materials in Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, Hindi and Gujarati. It houses annual company reports and local history files. The library provides reference and Internet services. The Norwalk Regional Library maintains a literacy center that is available for adults working on their personal reading and writing skills. It is a part of the County of Los Angeles Public Library.
