History
The Operating Managing Owner of Koch General Engineering is Monty Koch. Monty is a third generation contractor, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and his father. Along with many other projects, Monty's grandfather worked on the installation of the pipeline which runs under the Pacific Coast Highway, while his father pioneered the State of California surveying crews, working on the construction of the Cuyamaca Dam and Highway 8, among many other projects. Monty started working for his father's company, washing dump trucks and working his way through the ranks, working as a laborer, becoming a bridge carpenter, operating engineer and later a plant mechanic, asphalt foreman and general superintendent for several prominent San Diego construction companies, and then being the Responsible Managing Owner for Koch-Armstrong, a General Engineering Company which operated for the last 18 years.
