Knisley Welding Inc has been a family owned and operated business serving the aviation community since 1974. Glenn Knisley, who was working at Mather Air Force Base at the time as a supervisor in the welding department, began the company with the idea of filling a need for aircraft exhaust systems that were difficult to find. Glenn was retired from the military where he had received training in welding. The idea for the company began when an aircraft owner brought a muffler to Glenn for repairs because there was no one in the area repairing exhaust systems. Glenn then approached his brother Floyd Kinsley as a partner for the start up company that was first located in Rancho Cordova as a repair station. In addition to recreational flying, at that time there were many small planes flying as crop dusters in the Sacramento Valley. In 1976 their brother Bill Knisley joined the company as a third partner. Bill moved from San Diego where he was previously working at General Dynamics and Stromberg Carlson. Both Bill and Floyds sons and daughters joined the company as they graduated from school. The manufacturing and repair business grew to become well known nationally and the company moved in 1983 to their current location in Loomis. The demand for Knisley Welding's aircraft exhaust systems increased both because of the excellent quality and service they provide to their customers in addition to offering them an extensive supply of PMA, FAA approved parts that are now distributed world wide. Knisley Welding Inc now holds over 400 PMA's. The companies' services include a DMIR on sight and 8130's upon request. Knisley Welding Inc also has expertise to design and manufacture custom aircraft exhaust systems. KnisleyWelding's number one priority has been our standard for outstanding quality and craftsmanship since our first day of business.
