Michael Kelley grew up in Midpeninsula real estate development: his grandfather was the Kelley of Hare, Brewer and Kelley. He took part in all aspects of the firm, from framing houses to leading the Napa Valley Club and Willowbrook projects in the mid-1980s; then, after its closure in 1990, Kelley opened a small office first with a partner and then on his own. Likening real estate to cereal, he says, "Look at Quaker Oats. I'm like that; the niche guy in the back." Drums are Michael's avocation, and you'll find a Latin percussion set in his Village Court office.
