John Thomas Dye School is an independent school that provides for its students a wide range of educational programs. It is a coeducational, nonprofit school serving the educational, emotional, social and moral needs of more than 320 students in grades kindergarten through sixth. The school was founded in 1929 and is located in Los Angeles. Students attend specialist classes in physical educations, visual and performing arts, and library and technology. In addition to the curricular program, the students are offered field trips that include visits to grade zoos and museums. It organizes summer camps, tennis and gold tournaments and encourages parents involvement in the school s activities. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and California Association of Independent Schools. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools. Its community service program encourages students to care for others and the students participate in age-appropriate programs that involve many local community organizations.
