Jewish Gateways was founded in 2006 by Rabbi Bridget Wynne for those seeking connnections to Jewish life and community and wanting to explore Jewish identity in an open environment. As she explains on the group's website, Wynne, who grew up as a cultural Jew with a Jewish mother and lapsed Catholic father, became aware of the difficulty of finding a place in the Jewish community for those who feel marginalized. Jewish Gateways sponsors various events for children and adults, including festive gatherings, holiday celebrations and discussion groups.
