History
In 1981, Dr. Kupperman moved to Santa Barbara, and joined Dr. Andrew Binder in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Department at the Santa Barbara Medical Foundation Clinic, now the Sansum Medical Clinic. Dr. Robert Wright later joined him there in practice. In 1998, Dr. Kupperman again associated with Dr. Binder and opened his private practice of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Internal Medicine in Santa Barbara. Dr. Ronald Ungerer joined him several months later, and then Dr. Wright joined the practice in 2004. Drs. Richard Belkin and Jeffrey Sager joined the five-man practice of the Santa Barbara Pulmonary Consultants as partners in 2009. In July, 2017, Dr. Kupperman opened his own practice of Pulmonary Diseases and Internal Medicine in Santa Barbara, again in association with Dr. Binder.

Dr. Jeffrey L. Kupperman has practiced Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, and Internal Medicine in Santa Barbara, California, since 1981. He is a Diplomate of the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases, and a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Kupperman is a native of New Orleans, received his B.S. undergraduate degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and his M.D. medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society his junior year. He completed his training as a Medical Intern and Resident and as an NIH- and American Heart Association-Awarded Respiratory Physiology and Medicine Fellow at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he was awarded both the Outstanding Resident and the Outstanding Fellow Awards.
