Jackson Avenue Elementary School, which first opened in 1963, has undergone expansion and remodeling since it held its inaugural first day of class. In 2002, a new library and computer complex was built at the school. Construction and other upgrades on campus were completed in September 2008, which was funded by a local bond. Jackson Avenue, which has a stingray as the school mascot, is one of 12 schools in the district with an API score of 800 or higher. Its school colors are black and gold. Tammy Rankin is the school principal.
