Hume Lake Fire Rescue Department is an all-volunteer organization, consisting of over 25 firefighters and EMT's, dedicated to serving the unincorporated area of Fresno County in the high Sierra Nevada Mountains. With a cooperative agreement with the US Forest Service, they provide first due response for wildfire and structure fire protection, as well as emergency medical response.
Equipped with a Type 1 engine, a Type 2 engine, a 2000 gallon water tender, and a BLS rescue ambulance, Hume Lake Fire Rescue Department ensures the safety of the surrounding territory, which is encompassed by the Giant Sequoia National Monument and Sequoia National Forest.
