History
Since the year 2000, Anne McArthur has been a professional beach volleyball player, using her experience as an athlete and a patient to develop a great understanding of pain and how to eliminate it. She has been working with all types of cases and all ages for over 18 years in various locations across Los Angeles. She discovered cupping more than 10 years ago and has developed her own techniques for every body part. She has an excellent reputation for being able to quickly relieve your pain, and uses pilates and yoga based exercises, as well as her own therapeutic inventions in her rehabilitation programs. After working at the International Orthopedic Center for Joint disorders for 15 years Anne opened her own practice, Holistic Physical Therapy and Wellness, Inc. located at 12401 Wilshire Blvd, Ste 205, Los angeles, CA 90025. She is also doing personalized home physical therapy visits, so if you can't get out the house, the therapy can come to you!
Specialties
I provide in home and in office pain relief with one on one individualized sessions. My approach to physical therapy starts with an assessment of one's biomechanics, posture, joint and soft tissue mobility and range of motion and strength. I get a good idea of how a person moves to determine from the beginning what may be contributing cause of the onset of pain (other than an obvious injury). I then focus on hands-on techniques to relieve pain quickly, using myofascial release and cupping as needed. Once pain is reduced, focus moves to the biomechanical aspects, rom and strength deficits that contribute to the onset of pain. I use pilates and yoga as well as DNS and Janda techniques (more information found on my website.) I treat all post surgical cases, including total hip and knee replacements (tkr, thr), all painful movement dysfunctions from the neck to the ankles and everything in between, including arthritis.
