The Hewlett-Packard Company was launched back in 1939 with its first product, an audio oscillator. This was an electronic test instrument used by sound engineers and was built in a Palo Alto garage by classmates Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard. With Walt Disney Studios as one of its original customers, the organization has grown leaps and bounds into global markets.
Today, HP manufactures laptops, desktops, servers, storage devices, printers, ink, tones, calculators, monitors, scanners and a host of other hardware and software products. The campus in Roseville is primarily a research, development and manufacturing facility.
